The Flow Around a Surface Combatant at 10$$^\circ $$ Static Drift: Assessment of Turbulence Models

چکیده
This paper presents a computational study of the flow around DTMB 5415 at \(10^\circ \) static drift. Two RANS (Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes) turbulence models, as isotropic k-\(\omega SST and non linear anisotropic EARSM (Explicit Algebraic Reynolds Stress Model) one hybrid RANS-LES model, DES (Detached Eddy Simulation) based on \), are used with solver ISIS-CFD. All numerical results compared to experimental data. The show that model is able predict correctly behavior in core SDTV (Sonar Dome Tip Vortex), particularly high level kinetic energy.

Influence of turbulence closure models on the vortical flow field around a submarine body undergoing steady drift
Manoeuvring underwater vehicles experience complex three dimensional flow. Features include stagnation and boundary layer separation along a convex surface. The resulting free vortex sheet rolls up to form a pair of streamwise body vortices. The track and strength of the body vortex pair results in a nonlinear increase in lift with as body incidence increases. Consequently, accurate capture of ...

in this paper, inflow turbulence effects on the flow wake parameters around a naca0012 airfoil at zero incidence angle and reynolds number of 38,700 were investigated. various turbulence promoter networks were used to achieve turbulence intensity of 5% and 6%. experiments have been conducted for three different turbulence intensities in which mean velocity parameters, turbulence intensity, freq...
متن کاملthe impact of training on second language writing assessment: a case of raters’ biasedness

the present study sought to investigate the role of dynamic assessment (da) in improvement of iranian efl writing performance at different language proficiency levels. to this end, after conducting the quick placement test, 60 iranian efl learners were assigned to two groups with different language proficiency levels. in both groups each participant wrote two compositions, one before and one af...
Elasticity in drift-wave-zonal-flow turbulence.
We present a theory of turbulent elasticity, a property of drift-wave-zonal-flow (DW-ZF) turbulence, which follows from the time delay in the response of DWs to ZF shears. An emergent dimensionless parameter |〈v〉'|/Δωk is found to be a measure of the degree of Fickian flux-gradient relation breaking, where |〈v〉'| is the ZF shearing rate and Δωk is the turbulence decorrelation rate. For |〈v〉'|/Δ...
